It seems likely that \u201cclose\u201d has a similar meaning in similar uses.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Passages from Swedenborg<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Arcana Coelestia 10545<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">[7] In Amos,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0On that day I will raise up the tent of David that is fallen down, and I will close up\u00a0its breaches and restore its destroyed places. Amos 9:11.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0&#8216;The tent of David&#8217; means the Lord&#8217;s Church and the holiness that goes with worship of Him. &#8216;Closing\u00a0up\u00a0breaches and restoring destroyed places&#8217; means renewing those things by moving falsities away from them. &#8216;David&#8217; in the Word means the Lord, see 1888, 9954, so that &#8216;the tent of David&#8217; means the Lord&#8217;s Church and the holiness that goes with worship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arcana Coelestia\u00a04926 (Elliott)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">[3] In Amos,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0I will raise up the tent of David that is fallen down, and I willclose\u00a0up\u00a0their breaches, and I will restore its destroyed places; and I will build it as in the days of old. Amos 9:11.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0This refers to a Church where good is present. &#8216;The tent of David that is fallen down&#8217; means the good of love and charity received from the Lord. For &#8216;a tent&#8217; meaning that good, see 414, 1102, 2145, 2152, 3312, 4128, 4391, 4599, and &#8216;David&#8217; the Lord, 1888. &#8216;Closing\u00a0up\u00a0the breeches&#8217; stands for correcting falsities which have entered in through the separation of truth from good. &#8216;Building it as in the days of old&#8217; stands for as the state of the Church was in ancient times.
