What to Expect When You Arrive

When you first arrive at our church, you will walk through double glass doors into our lobby.  There a member of the congregation will greet you and hand you an Order of Service to help you follow the flow of our service.  Then you will be invited to enter the nave where there will be gentle music playing before the service begins. It is our tradition to refrain from speaking as much as possible during this time to allow everyone a time of quiet reflection.

If you arrive after the service has begun, no worries! Just pick up an Order of Service from the podium in the lobby, quietly enter the nave, and find a seat. We will be glad you came.

During the Service

Our regular service includes hymns sung by the congregation, opening the Lord's Word, prayers from the minister, the Lord's prayer, reading from the Lord's Word, a lesson for the children, a time of reflection, more reading from the Lord's Word and a sermon for the adults.  We also present an offering to the Lord of the free-will donations received in the wooden bowls at the back of the church.

Children sit with their parents for the first part of the service and are then invited to go out for a Sunday School lesson or play time. If you are bringing a child, you may wish to keep them with you for the entire service and that is perfectly fine. Or, if you like, you can accompany your child to the lobby for some play time and you will still be able to hear the rest of the service as our sound system pipes into the lobby.

After the Service

Please come and visit with us in the lobby and the adjacent room where we often have light refreshments available. Our pastor and others would love to meet you and are available to answer any questions you may have. Members are often seen visiting with each other for thirty to forty minutes after the service has ended. Please come say, "Hello," and stay for as long as you are comfortable.

• Take Route 50 East (John Hanson Highway),
• Take the first exit onto Route 704 North (Martin Luther King Highway),
• Continue straight through the light at Route 450 (Annapolis Road) for 1.2 miles,
• Take a right onto Route 193 East (Enterprise Road) and travel 1.4 miles,
• Take a left onto Chantilly Lane,
• The Church driveway is on the left before you reach the bottom of the hill.

Not sure what to wear?

Members of our congregation come in a variety of attire.  Some dress up for church and some dress casually. We want everyone to be comfortable, so please do wear clothing appropriate to worshiping God, but don't worry about whether you have clothing that is formal or dressy enough. We look forward to seeing you!
